IT Manager , Dubai Duty Free
Prior to joining Dubai Duty Free (DDF) in February 1998, Allan Chapman worked closely with DDF as an independent consultant operating from his home country of Sri Lanka.
While currently holding the position of manager of IT, Chapman previously served as a member of the development and implementation team for legacy applications. Back in 2001, when the company took the decision to implement Oracle E-business Suite, Chapman served as technical lead on the project.
As an influencer and driver of a number of the brand’s IT initiatives, the Sri Lanka’s national has been involved in a number of projects, such as the PCI-DSS initiative and the Dynamic Currency Conversion.
Beginning from 2006 and until the launch of the Emirates Airline Terminal 3 in 2008, DDF’s manager of IT headed the Oracle Retail Suite implementation. He was also involved with the introduction of DDF’s material handling and control system, part of the Automated Distribution Centre.
