Omar Kassim Omar Kassim

Omar Kassim, perhaps better known as the founder of electronics e-commerce website JadoPado, has started a new venture named Esanjo.

This year alone has been a rollercoaster ride for Kassim. In May Kassim announced it had been acquired by a large regional business, stating ‘our grand experience is at an end after 2420 days’. It was later revealed that Emaar Properties chair Mohamed Alabbar had in fact purchased JadoPado.

Kassim then became the chief technology officer of Alabbar’s upcoming e-commerce portal Noon, but shortly left the position.

Now, Kassim is on a new journey venturing into Blockchain technology with the launch of Esanjo.

Esanjo is from the word asanjo meaning ‘ours' taken from the Memoni language, but Kassim reveals the change from ‘a' to ‘e' represents ‘electronically ours'.

The newly formed start-up is a real estate asset management business which facilitates transactions relying on Ethereum Blockchain, an open source platform used to build and use applications based on Blockchain.

Kassim was raised in Dubai and attended Dubai College and later went on to receive his BSc in Electronics Engineering and Business Studies from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.
